'AMLÉ' (Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn) is the new name for the Union of Students in Ireland. It's a direct translation. It came into effect on 13 May 2025. The rebrand reflects the desire of the organisation to promote the use of the Irish Language.
In the lead up to AMLÉ Congress, many member colleges around Ireland hold special ‘informal hustings’ meetings to allow candidates for office to seek the support of the delegates to congress.
These meetings are organised by individual members, and AMLÉ has no official involvement, nor do we schedule them – this is provided for information only. Official hustings takes place at AMLÉ Congress.
UPDATE: Please note updates to TCDSU, NUIGSU and GMITSU hustings dates.
