'AMLÉ' (Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn) is the new name for the Union of Students in Ireland. It's a direct translation.

- AMLÉ attended WIT Students’ Union class representative council and a Repeal the 8th debate hosted by WIT FLAC society.
- AMLÉ hosted a meeting in IT Blanchardstown for Students’Union Officers to discuss policies and motions for AMLÉ Congress 2017.
- AMLÉ held a National Council meeting in IT Blanchardstown where Students’Union Officers discussed campaigns, academic affairs, welfare, equality and national issues.

Students’ Unions come #Out4Love ahead of the Assembly Elections in March
Policy and Campaigns:
- The Vice President for Welfare attended the Students Sport Ireland Board meeting.
- AMLÉ pledged support to students in Northern Ireland ahead of the Assembly Elections on March 2nd and demanded candidates come #Out4Love.
- The Vice President for Equality and Citizenship attended an Association for Higher Education Access and Disability (AHEAD) board meeting to discuss students with disabilities
- AMLÉ pledged support to campaign on the issue of increasing car insurance.
- AMLÉ made a submission to the Low Pay Commission on the National Minimum Wage recommending a Living Wage and change to ‘If and When’ contracts.
- The Vice President for Equality and Citizenship attended an European Network Against Racism (ENAR) Ireland meeting regarding racism on campuses.
- The Vice President for Equality and Citizenship attended the first LGBT Youth Strategy Oversight Committee and made a number of reccomendations on behalf of students.
- AMLÉ met with the Wheel to discuss a timeline and plan to comply with the Governance Code and become even more transparent.
- Everything was finalised with the HSE, Think Contraception, Health Ireland and other partners on SHAG 17 before the campaign was set to launch.
- Vice President for Equality and Citizenship travelled to Brussels to a European Students’ Union (ESU) seminar on refugees and higher education.
