Digital Content Creator
Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn (AMLÉ) now wishes to recruit a Digital Content Creator to lead on creative communications, digital storytelling, and visual media for the organisation.
The successful candidate will bring a strong mix of digital creativity, communications expertise, and political awareness. They will work closely with the AMLÉ team, particularly student officers, who have responsibility for the political decisions and tone of the organisation, to shape the organisation’s online presence across social media, video, and web platforms, ensuring that AMLÉ’s messages are seen, shared, and understood across the country.
The successful candidate will excel at designing and producing graphics, short-form video, and visual content that capture attention and express complex issues clearly. They will have a sharp instinct for social media trends and understand how to use digital tools to amplify campaigns.
They will also support the preparation of press releases, media statements, and traditional communications, and will provide expert advice to student officers on messaging, tone, and presentation.
The ideal candidate will combine creative flair with the discipline and composure needed to manage communications in a fast-moving and politically sensitive environment.
Job Specification
The Digital Content Executive will:
- Lead on the creation of graphics, video and digital media for AMLÉ’s campaigns, projects and online presence.
- Manage AMLÉ’s social media channels, ensuring consistent, accessible and visually engaging content.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar and advise on emerging digital trends.
- Work with colleagues to plan, script, shoot and edit short videos for campaigns, events and announcements.
- Manage day-to-day content on the AMLÉ website and ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms.
- Provide media and PR support, including supporting the creation of press releases, briefing notes and statements.
- Prepare student officers for interviews and media appearances.
- Contribute to the communications strategy, advising officers on tone, timing and visual style.
- Support internal communications and coordination across teams.
Required Characteristics
- A Level 8 qualification or higher in communications, public relations, digital media, graphic design or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality digital content, with a portfolio including video, graphic, and social media work.
- Strong understanding of, and skill in storytelling on social media platforms, analytics, and audience engagement.
- Excellent command of written English and strong editing and proofreading skills.
- Sufficient capacity in the Irish language to produce graphics and communications bilingually, and to contribute to AMLÉ’s Irish-language output.
- Sound understanding of Ireland’s political landscape and the role of students’ unions.
- Composure and judgement in handling politically sensitive communications.
- The right or entitlement to work full time in Ireland.
Desirable Characteristics
- Experience in communications, design or public relations for an organisation or campaign.
- Experience working or volunteering in a Students’ Union or educational context.
- Experience in animation, video or motion graphics
- Familiarity with accessibility and inclusivity in digital design.
Basic Conditions
- Salary: €40,000 per annum
- AMLÉ funded phone
- Generous annual leave entitlement
- Hybrid working (three days per week in the Dublin office)
