'AMLÉ' (Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn) is the new name for the Union of Students in Ireland. It's a direct translation. It came into effect on 13 May 2025. The rebrand reflects the desire of the organisation to promote the use of the Irish Language.
USI was renamed 'AMLÉ' (Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn) on 13 May 2025. The rebrand reflects the desire of the organisation to promote the use of the Irish Language. The translation of 'Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn' to English is 'Union of Students in Ireland'.

AMLÉ Complaints Procedure

The Union of Students in Ireland will accept any complaints submitted by members of AMLÉ in relation to any of its activities, particularly projects and grant funded programmes.

In every case, complaints will be treated seriously and the funder of the programme will be notified of the receipt of the complaint and the procedure AMLÉ proposes to use to respond to the complaint.

Complaints about conduct of staff

All complaints about conduct of staff (which for these purposes includes AMLÉ Officers) should be submitted to the AMLÉ General Manager in writing to the organisation’s headquarters at:

The General Manager will consider the case and take the actions s/he deems necessary.

The General Manager will communicate with the complainant within 30 days of the conclusion of his/her consideration of the issue and notify the funder of the programme through their complaints channel.

Complaints about the conduct of a campaign or materials

All complaints about content of materials of the conduct of a campaign should be submitted to the AMLÉ General Manager in writing to the organisation’s headquarters at:
