'AMLÉ' (Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn) is the new name for the Union of Students in Ireland. It's a direct translation. It came into effect on 13 May 2025. The rebrand reflects the desire of the organisation to promote the use of the Irish Language.
Tá Scéim Teanga ag AMLÉ ina leagtar amach dualgais AMLÉ agus Leas-Uachtarán don Ghaeilge an Ghaeilge a chur chun cinn laistigh den eagraíocht féin. Tá sé mar dhualgas ag an LU don Ghaeilge an scéim teanga a chur i bhfeidhm agus a chinntiú go bhfuil an fhoireann fheidhmiúcháin ag comhlíonadh coinníollacha na scéime.
AMLÉ has an Irish language Scheme which outlines the responsibilities of AMLÉ and the Leas-Uachtarán don Ghaeilge to promote Irish within the organisational structures of AMLÉ. It is the responsibility of the LU don Ghaeilge to implement the scheme and to ensure the AMLÉ Executive Team is fulfilling the conditions of the scheme.
