'AMLÉ' (Aontas na Mac Léinn in Éirinn) is the new name for the Union of Students in Ireland. It's a direct translation. It came into effect on 13 May 2025. The rebrand reflects the desire of the organisation to promote the use of the Irish Language.
We’ve chosen a new design for the AMLÉ website to harness the content production skills of our officers and the communication needs of SUs and journalists.
At first glance, the site can look a bit busy – this reflects multiple policy briefs and campaigns from across the organisation.
For now, we’re working on our page designs to make sure we include the best content for our static material – as the new design beds in we’ll make refinements to the site and help the new functions simmer down. It’ll settle down soon in the new year.
In the new year, look out for our new officer blogs, our National Council co-ordination system and the first looks at the E-Clár live blogging system we’ll use for AMLÉ Congress.
